Volunteering is a great way to contribute something towards your community and is an excellent way to support the rugby club that either you, your family members or friends belong to.
The success of community rugby in New Zealand can be attributed to the time and effort of volunteers. Each rugby club has a group of volunteers from all ages, backgrounds and occupations to assist with the running of the club.
Types of volunteers include:
- Team Managers
- Board Members
- Bar Staff
- Gear Custodian
You don't even need to commit to the whole rugby season, as there could be a specific event or task that the club may need extra help with.
To become a volunteer just contact a rugby club in your area or contact your local Provincial Rugby Union and they will put you in the right direction.
