Sheffield Search is assisting the New Zealand Rugby (NZR) Board Appointments and Remuneration Panel (ARP) to facilitate the recruitment of the NZ Rugby Board consisting of nine Independent Board Members. 

Following the recent governance review, NZR now formally invites applications from suitably qualified, experienced governance professionals to join the NZR Board.  Prospective Board members must be able to demonstrate that they can think and act independently. 

One Board Member must whakapapa Māori and have knowledge, understanding and lived experience of te ao Māori in a complex organisational context.

Another position must identify and have lived experience as Pasifika with ancestral and authentic cultural connections and an ability to apply a Pasifika world view in a complex organisational context.

Three Board Members must have served on the board of a New Zealand Provincial Rugby Union. The Board must also comply with its gender diversity targets, which currently require at least 40% of the board are female. 

 

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | Key Skills and Experience

Highly sophisticated skills and experience to be considered carefully for the Board, which will assist and guide the decision-making process, amongst other factors, include:

·       Sound commercial skills;

·       Financial acumen;

·       Deep knowledge of rugby at all levels of the game in New Zealand; and

·       Experienced leadership capability.

The Chiefs Rugby Club is inviting applications for an Emerging Director position from individuals who wish to develop their governance capabilities and contribute their skill and knowledge to the Board of the Chiefs Rugby Club. 

 

The Board is seeking to nurture and develop governance in sport through an Emerging Director role whilst adding value to the Board and Club by complementing its existing skill set and characteristics.

Emerging Director Role: This is not a formal director role, and there are no rights of a formal director such as voting rights,  the Emerging Director will be a participant in all meetings.  A current board member will be appointed as lead Mentor.

 

Term: This position is for a one-year term, to commence as soon as the appointment process is completed.


Meetings: The Board meet approximately ten times a year for 3 - 4 hours per meeting on a weekday, in Hamilton at Chiefs Rugby Club. Attendance at Gallagher Chiefs and Chiefs Manawa home games for hosting stakeholders and supporting the teams is ideal. 

 

Locality: Chiefs Region ideally.

NEW ZEALAND U18 SEVENS DEVELOPMENT MENS & WOMENS RUGBY TEAMS

Planning is now underway for the 2024 New Zealand U18 Sevens programme for the Global Youth Sevens tournament in Auckland to be held from the 8th - 16th December. New Zealand Rugby seeks expressions of interest for the following role.

 

Team Managers – U18 Girls and U18 Boys  

We are looking for Managers for both our Under 18 Boys and Under 18 Girls teams. Their primary responsibility will be to manage the team through the weeks, working closely with our pathways manager and lead coaches to oversee the team’s daily operations, including communications, handling administration tasks and facilitating the smooth functioning of the environment to provide a rewarding development opportunity and enjoyable experience allowing staff and players to show case their talent.

 

Candidates must have recent experience in New Zealand. Applicants must be resident in New Zealand. 

 

This is an outstanding opportunity to play a key role in the development and performance of our potential future Olympic Sevens players.

CRFU Women's High Performance Coach Expressions of Interest

 

Canterbury Rugby is committed to fostering and advancing rugby within the Canterbury region. We focus on nurturing talent from junior and school levels all the way to our representative and high-performance teams. Our goal is to uphold our reputation as one of the leading and most respected rugby organizations globally.

 

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the position of Women’s High-Performance Coach. This role may encompass various responsibilities, including:

  • FPC Coach (Assistant or Head Coach)
  • Canterbury Women’s Academy Skills Coach
  • Matatū Black Ferns Hub Skills Coach

 

This expression of interest is open to both part-time and full-time candidates. The final role will be determined based on applicants’ availability and skill set.

 

Expectations of Candidates:

  • Experience: 3-4 years of coaching at a provincial level.
  • Passion: A strong interest in growing the women’s game.
  • Development: Proven experience in developing rugby players.
  • Innovation: Ability to be athlete-centred and innovative in coaching approaches.
  • NZ Eligibility: You must be qualified and registered to work in NZ.
