NOMINATION OF DIRECTORS FOR THE BOARD OF WRFU


Pursuant to clause 7.6 of the Constitution of the Wellington Rugby Football Union, at every A.G.M., two Directors are required to retire from office. This includes, first, any Director who wishes to retire and does not offer to stand for re-election, and second, those Directors who have been longest in office since their last election, subject to the provisions of Rule 7.5.


This year the two applicable Directors are Catherine Rossiter-Stead and Tracey Kai.


Clubs are reminded of the provisions of Clause 7.2.1 of the Constitution as follows:

Nomination of Candidates 
Any Club or Affiliated Body seeking to nominate a Director to fill a position provided for in Rule 7.1(c) regarding appointed Directors, shall forward such nomination to the CEO. The nomination shall be in writing in the form prescribed by the Board of Directors, shall accompany a curriculum vitae ("CV") of the nominee and shall be signed by the Secretary or other proper officer of the nominator pursuant to a resolution of the governing body of such nominator.

 

If your Club would like to make a nomination for the Board, please ensure that this, along with a curriculum vitae, is received in writing to me by the close of business on Wednesday 12 February 2025.

 

The Appointments Board, in accordance with Clause 7.2.2, will assess candidates and recommend the appointment of Directors to be confirmed at the A.G.M. Notification to members will occur not less than 14 days prior to the AGM by Wednesday 12 March 2025.

NORTHLAND RUGBY ASSISTANT STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the position of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. This role may encompass various responsibilities, including:

  • Male Academy Lead
  • Women’s High Performance Lead
  • Farah Palmer Cup 
  • Assistant NPC

 

This expression of interest is open to both part-time and full-time candidates. The final role will be determined based on applicants’ availability and skill set.

 

Preferred Expectations of Candidates:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a strength and conditioning position with Rugby
  • Development: Proven experience in developing rugby players
  • Sound knowledge of the fundamentals of nutrition, sports science and the use of GPS in a team environment
  • Excellent ability to work within a multi-disciplinary teams and share responsibility for player development and programme management
  • NZ Eligibility: You must be qualified and registered to work in NZ.

Sheffield Search is assisting the New Zealand Rugby (NZR) Board Appointments and Remuneration Panel (ARP) to facilitate the recruitment of the final appointment for the recently formed NZ Rugby Board, to consist of the Chair and eight Independent Board Members. 


Following the recent governance review, and subsequent ratification of eight of the nine board appointments late last year, NZR now formally invites applications from a suitably qualified, experienced governance professional to take up the last of the nine governance positions. Given the appointments that have been made, the final Prospective Board member must have served on the board of, or held an executive management position within, a New Zealand Provincial Rugby Union, and must be female, in order for the Board to meet the requirements of the NZR constitution. The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate that they can think and act independently, and the appointment will need to be ratified by the Affiliated Bodies (Provincial Unions and the NZ Māori Rugby Board).

Alongside the above stipulations, highly sophisticated skills and experience to be considered carefully for the Board, which will assist and guide the decision-making process, amongst other factors, include: 


•    Sound commercial skills;

•    Experienced leadership capability; and
•    A genuine connection to NZR’s kaupapa and values, including a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Otago Rugby Football Union - Board Member Vacancies

 

The Otago Rugby Football Union (ORFU) invites applications for two appointed Board Members, each for a three-year term.  

 

The ORFU’s purpose is to grow and foster community rugby throughout Otago and enable local pathways to higher performance.

 

These positions will become vacant by way of rotation at the next AGM in March 2025.

 

The independent appointment panel encourages applicants that:  

•    Have governance and/or leadership experience. 
•    Think strategically, and act independently, in the best interests of rugby across all of Otago. 
•    Have a passion to advance the interests of rugby in Otago
•    Have sound financial literacy skills and experience
