First Aid in Rugby

First Aid in Rugby (FAIR) courses give you the opportunity to gain rugby-specific first aid skills.

Delivered by experienced practitioners with rugby expertise, a World Rugby recognised FAIR qualification will give you the skills to immediately assist an injured player.

FAIR courses are open to anyone in the rugby community – volunteers, coaches, referees, physios, players, sports coordinators, parents and everyone else interested.

Course Structure

The course is made up of two parts:

  1. An online pre-course theory component, and
  2. A hands-on practical session taken by our specialist educators.

Please note this course is rugby specific and the content differs to a Red Cross or St John First Aid Course.

Pre-course work requirements

There are approximately four to six hours of work required in the pre-course component. This pre-course work must be completed prior to attending the practical session to ensure maximum benefit from the course, and in order to meet certification requirements. The following modules must be completed on World Rugby Passport:

  • First Aid in Rugby Module
  • Concussion Management for the General Public Module
  • Rugby Ready Module.

On completion of the course to the required standard, you will receive a World Rugby FAIR qualification certificate and a FAIR kit (valued at over $100) with equipment used on the course.
