LineBreak

LineBreak is a Learning Management System (LMS) designed to manage the delivery, distribution and sequencing of learning experiences across the rugby system.

Integrating with Rugby Xplorer (RX) and Salesforce, LineBreak enables a positive, seamless user experience via a single sign-on (SSO) process. Learners can browse and view online courses, book into face-to-face training, and access resources to support their learning.

Within LineBreak, learners can view courses they have enrolled in, have completed, are still in progress or have expired. The source of truth for all completed training will remain Salesforce, while any completed training required for registration or compliance will be pushed to Rugby Xplorer.

Why LineBreak?
We want to future proof all parts of the rugby delivery system and provide a high-quality user experience for our participants. We can do this by delivering a system that is built specifically for rugby that also supports how our communities connect with rugby.

NZR conducted a full review in 2024 and concluded LineBreak (provided by etrainu) was the best option.

Etrainu has proven experience and a successful track record in Learning Management Systems for a range of industries, including sport, around the world. Etrainu is the platform Rugby Australia selected as their LMS provider to integrate with RX.

Implementation and Timeframes
LineBreak successfully went live on 20 October 2025. This enabled users to enter the LMS through RX via single-sign-on, which will automatically generate a unique LMS profile that links to their Salesforce account.

In November 2025, Provincial Union Community Rugby Staff will be the first users trained in the new system in what will be a phased approach to onboarding all community rugby learners. There will be a small selection of resources and course content initially, which will be added to over time. The next 12 months will see a rapid increase in content aligned with the induction of different user groups.

The first learning experience to be fully managed via LineBreak will be Rugby Smart 2026. This will be undertaken by a volunteer group of provincial unions who will be supported by NZR staff. Once this pilot is underway, additional content will be rolled out and training will commence across the country with the intention of full functionality being available toward the end of 2026.
