New Zealand Rugby (NZR) has announced the four squads for the New Zealand U20 Development Programme in Taupo from 14-21 March.
A group of 100 U20 selected players have been split into four squads, the Barbarians, Centurions, Saracens and Harlequins for a week that will include two match days.
The week will also provide development opportunities for coaches and management which will include the New Zealand U20s coaching and management team alongside a mix of Super Rugby Club, Provincial Union and community rugby volunteers.
NZR Men's National Pathways Head Coach Kane Jury said the programme would be a crucial tool in selecting the New Zealand U20 squad for The Rugby Championship U20 tournament in South Africa in April.
“It’s our first chance to bring a group of players together and align on the standards, skills, and game understanding required for the international programme, and then to see the player tested in live game situations and scenarios.”
There will be four games over two match-days which will be livestreamed by Engage Live, with details of where fans can watch to be announced.
