Cup finalists decided ahead of epic clash
1 September 2026Just 80 minutes separate Pōneke Wanderers and Silverdale Procut Truffle Pigs from glory at this season’s Under 85kg National Club Cup grand final.
That’s because both the North Harbour side and Wellington’s Pōneke put up huge performances in their respective semi-finals to clinch a spot in Sunday’s final.
The competition’s showpiece will be held on Sunday afternoon at North Harbour Stadium. The match will kick off at 2pm, as the curtain raiser for an intriguing clash in the Hilux NPC as fourth-placed North Harbour host second-placed Ranfurly Shield holders, Northland.
The grand final will also be livestreamed on the All Blacks YouTube channel, live from 1:50pm on the day.
Silverdale thrashed Tukapa in Taupō 39-0, with substitute Matt Rennall and winger Jaden Tomas-Over both nabbing two tries on the way to a convincing scoreline.
Pōneke’s Ethan Rangi also bagged a double as the Wellington club knocked over Pakuranga Panthers 30-14.
