Contact Ready is our national introductory programme designed specifically for teenage girls who are new to rugby, in their first year of the game, or currently playing non-contact formats. The programme helps girls develop correct technique and confidence as they transition into contact rugby, supporting safe participation. It’s all about creating a supportive space where girls can learn at their own pace alongside others of similar experience, make friends, and grow their love of the game.
The Contact Ready Programme Guide, Coaches Kit, and supporting video library (Game Suite) are designed for coaches and Provincial Unions. These resources work alongside the Contact Ready face-to-face coach training, which all coaches are required to complete before delivering the programme. All resources should be used together with the full guides and training to ensure girls receive a consistent, high-quality, and safe experience.
